Goshukan Karate is a company that offer expert tuition in traditional Japanese Goju Ryu karate, WKF Sports karate, ‘Street survival’ self-defense, Grappling and fitness. Our instructors are all qualified, Japanese graded karateka, and we have in our ranks, tactical Police officers, tactical paramedics and close protection VIP bodyguards, who know and teach real world street survival to our students

Goshukan is an affiliated member of KSA (Karate South Africa), SASCOC (South African Sports confederation and Olympic Committee), the South African Department of Sports and Recreation, the WKF (World Karate Fedreation) and JKF Goju Kai International. All our athletes are given the skills they need to compete in sport karate at an international level and achieve provincial, regional and eventually National Protea colours. Goshukan has already produced many Western Province, South African and World Champions. With karate becoming an Olympic sport in 2020, training under Goshukan provides an excellent pathway to sporting greatness

Goshukan Reachout currently has approx 3000 underprivileged kids of all ages training in areas all over the Western Cape and Gauteng. All these kids train free of charge. We have countless calls and requests for more studios in the underprivileged areas and are trying to raise the funds to make this possible.

Goshukan Reachout assists schools in these areas by helping Principals and teachers to instil discipline, honour, dignity, respect and anger management into these students, equipping them with valuable lifesaving street survival and self-defence skills. We show these kids that there is another path to live that does not involve crime, gangsterism and drugs.

We offer safe and controlled environments for them to learn, play and grow.

Goshukan Reachout is a Christian led ministry program. It is our wish to link our sporting and physical development programs with solid gospel teachings and ministries.

Together with Love Trust, St Matthews Church, Tableview, Cape Town and Mark Dickson, Principal of George Whitfield Theological College, we plan to take the Gospel into these underprivileged areas.

To develop sustainable Christian organisations of excellence to serve vulnerable children and communities who grow up in conditions of poverty, and neglect. Early childhood experiences greatly influence a child’s self-esteem, ability to trust and attitude towards learning.

Our aim is to develop, and safeguard the child’s rights to advance his or her full cognitive, emotional, social and physical capabilities. To develop a generation of servant leaders, assist them by improving the quality of programmes in impoverished communities.  It is Love Trust’s belief that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and we hope to provide every one of our children with the best possible education.

If our children become successful entrepreneurs through value based education they receive, if they are caring, responsible, act socially and environmentally responsible, contribute to creating a thriving economy in their communities; then Love Trust would have made a difference. If boys become responsible fathers, leaders of their home and children grow up to be concerned to others this is how we will measure the impact of our work and whether or not we have been successful in our endeavours.
